To live in a palace with history right in the heart of Lisbon is a privilege few can enjoy. This will be the case of the 11 families who chose the Contreiras Palace, a fully restored 19th-century palace located in one of the noblest areas of the capital, the Príncipe Real.
Built in 1889 by José Augusto Alves do Rio, a naval officer and meteorologist, Contreiras Palace remained a private residence until the mid-1970s, when the British Embassy acquired it to install there the British Council.
Keeping intact its outward beauty and recovering some of the details that make it unique, such as its murals and sculpted plaster ceilings, the palace was reborn to offer 11 luxury residences,a commercial area and 13 parking units.
